I hope they realise that they are alienating themselves from many people in the ex-JW community by their attitude and overall incompetence. I think they lost a great opportunity for keeping their own community alive by not having some sort of free-discussion forum instead of just articles posted by cedars and comments being quickly deleted. Right now there's no place for their followers to gather other than to join as a volunteer and banter back and forth on FB. All you need to do is look at the introductory thread and see how many people were eager to join up. Now even some of those have taken a decidedly anti-AAWA stance.

Michael Jackson's kids decide no more going door-to-door
by Gopher inthis article made my day.
it looks like paris jackson and her brother prince michael have told katherine they simply aren't interested in peddling jw stuff from door-to-door any more.
i'm glad they are becoming their own people and emerging from their grandmother's control.. http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2013/05/paris-jackson-prince-michael-jackson-jehovas-witness/.

This article only mentioned Prince and Paris. Is Blanket Jackson still going to door-to-door?
A pre-teen boy with long hair hanging half-way down his back going out door-to-door. That would be a sight.

Thoughts on the new AAWA video and other things!!
by iamwhoiam inso does this mean aawa is going to stop shunning?
are they themselves not guilty of shunning those who shun?
shunning can never be stopped no matter how bad you want it to.

It's almost as if he's doing this on purpose in order to get the thread locked so he can go back to his AAWA buddies and say "See? They're locking down all pro-AAWA discussion at JWN!"

The article was written by Richard Kelly, not cedars. Unless you're suggesting that cedars is not above editing other people's articles?

Maybe we can get Marvin to ask Dick about how he feels now about Simon and Angharad. The article was dated 3 April.

Pish! Marvin comes highly recommended! Read what the AAWA's own Richard Kelly has to say about Marvin's work:

My Final Goodbye
by Lady Lee ini want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.
i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.
i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

Unfortunately that wouldn't be the first time cedars has tried to lock down threads and give moderators strongly worded advice. His 'Patterson' article thread is a perfect example of that. The point had been made by several posters that the WTS wasn't likely to physically lose the Patterson facility to the Contis as cedars had claimed in bold terms in his article, as well as not necessarily being a sign they (WTS) simply didn't have the ready cash, but was rather a legal move to avoid paying them a lump sum of cash before the appeal process was completed. cedars interpreted this as an attack upon him and the Contis. What was particularly shameful was that he posted not one, but TWO letters from the Contis urging people to stop 'attacking' cedars, and how reading these 'attacks' on cedars was making them very upset. You can find these exchanges here:
and here:
He showed no hesitation in using the Conti's suffering as a way to stop what he felt were attacks against him on the thread. He also strongly suggested that the site owner was not properly moderating the forum by not having any mod in different times zones other than US/Canada to allow for 24 hour moderation.
The position cedars put LL in with the AAWA thread was along the same lines. He'd always go to great lengths to shut down discussion that was adverse to his position, and not surprisingly, is the same way the AAWA is run.
Interestingly enough, there are plans for a forum at the AAWA.

I don't even have to imagine how many 'inappropriate comments' are removed, users deleted, and threads will be locked there. At least cedars probably wont feel compelled to use the Contis suffering as a way to dominate a discussion there. There will be a convenient button for him to push, which is exactly how he wants it.

*lost* - Read Richard Kelly's article about the history of AAWA on cedars' site jwsurvey.org:

Lee Marsh, who has qualifications and experience in the field of support work, joined as an Advisory Board member on March 31, 2013 – bringing the total number of board members to eight. Lee will lead the Support Team, and we are grateful to be adding her skills and experience to our project.
LL was the last one to join, shortly before AAWA was launched.

Share the Craziest far out ideas/arguments you have heard about life in the "NEW SYSTEM"
by BU2B inreally the whole thing is ludicrious but it is hilarious and sad at the same time to see grown people arguing about weather there will be cars, planes, eat meat, what about fish, etc in a place as imaginary as oz, yet to them it is reality.. the teaching of a paradise earth was so illogical it really was the first thing that started me on the path to waking up.
just the thought that someone could greet their beloved spouse who had died only to come to the realization that they could never be together again struck me as so cruel, i didnt want to live there even if it was all true.. i have heard jws say they think we might be able to fly, read minds since we will be able to use 100% and some seem to think life would be an endless vacation, with modern conveniences with no thought to all the processes and work that goes into something simple like a pencil.
i love the article jwfacts has on the flaws of any theory or teaching of paradise earth.. what are some things you have heard discussed/argued in car groups, gatherings etc when you were in?.

People like John Lennon and Gandhi would be resurrected as part of the 'unrighteous' because they loved peace, but were never given a chance to hear the JW message. It's just wrong to picture those two studying with Witnesses under the ever-present gaze of lions and baskets of bountiful fruit.

That entire exchange reflected more on cedars' character and his own personal playbook than on LL. It is evident that she got in the middle of it at cedars' behest. It was a low-down and sneaky thing to do on someone else's board, and his reputation has suffered greatly since. Though LL probably could have used better judgment by telling cedars to appeal to the site owner or another mod not affiliated with AAWA to avoid a conflict of interest, he should be ashamed of himself for involving a woman with great personal integrity in such a back-handed act.
LL's decision to leave was hers and hers alone. cedars didn't make it for her, and it would be an insult to LL to assume so. Which isn't to say that he didn't chime in anyway with his always over-bearing opinion regarding her being a mod on a site he that viewed as enemy territory. I wouldn't want to be associated with such an unprofessional crybaby as the organisation's president, but LL obviously views it differently. We should all take her resignation at face value and wish her the best in her endeavours.
